Checked specifications for Grandstream

3 of 3 Grandstream models have been checked against the manufacturer's datasheet or spec page, or against a retailer listing that quotes it. Streams and peak antenna gain below are the manufacturer's published figures; the planner derives transmit power, throughput and client capacity from them. Last review: 9 October 2026.

Among the checked models the widest 5 GHz radio is 4 spatial streams (GWN7664). More streams raise the data rate a single client can reach and the capacity of the access point, but they do not extend range by themselves; antenna gain and transmit power set the range.

How to plan a Grandstream network

  1. Upload a PNG, JPG or WebP floor plan and set its scale.
  2. Choose the design band and a minimum RSSI. About -65 dBm suits voice and video.
  3. Draw glass, drywall, brick, concrete and lift-core walls.
  4. Select Grandstream and calculate. The tool recommends a model and quantity from your floor size, clients and throughput.
  5. Move access points on the map, then export the AP list or a report.

Questions about Grandstream planning

Does the planner support Grandstream access points?

Yes. It includes 3 Grandstream models (1 Wi-Fi 5, 2 Wi-Fi 6). Pick the brand and let the tool recommend a model and quantity, or enter your own model mix.

Can I plan 6 GHz coverage with Grandstream?

None of the Grandstream models in this planner support 6 GHz, so plan on 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz.

Where do the Grandstream specs in the planner come from?

3 of 3 Grandstream models are checked against the vendor datasheet or spec page; the rest use Grandstream's family specification and are marked est. in the planner. The planner turns Wi-Fi generation, spatial streams and antenna gain into transmit power, throughput and client capacity for the band and channel width you choose. Check the current datasheet before you buy.

How accurate is a Grandstream Wi-Fi heatmap forecast?

It is a predictive planning estimate based on distance, wall attenuation, band and the published datasheet specifications of the Grandstream model you choose. Confirm it with an on-site survey before buying or installing Grandstream equipment.
